“Beautifying Others to Strengthen Her Household”

Laboni Shil, a resident of Mohona village in Patiram district, Dakshin Dinajpur, possessed an entrepreneurial spirit that yearned to contribute to her family’s income. While her husband dedicated long hours to his work as a taxi driver, she identified a growing demand for beauty parlor services in her village.

Leveraging her skills, acquired through a pre-marital grooming and makeup course, Laboni decided to establish a beauty parlor at home. To realize this vision, she sought financial support from Ujjawal Fiscal Services. In July 2024, she was granted a collateral-free loan of ₹20,000.

With this financial boost, Laboni invested in essential furniture, cosmetics, and other supplies to set up her beauty parlor. Her business quickly gained traction, generating daily earnings of ₹400-500. To further expand her business and replenish her stock, she recently availed another loan of ₹20,000 from Ujjawal Fiscal Services.

Laboni’s entrepreneurial journey has not only transformed her family’s financial situation but has also inspired several women in her neighborhood. She stands as a shining example of how financial empowerment can uplift individuals and communities.

Rubi Roy, a resident of Tulshihata, Malda, West Bengal, was struggling to manage her household expenses with her husband’s sole income. She aspired to start an income-generating activity to supplement their family income.

Her dream became a reality when she connected with Ujjawal Fiscal’s Tulshihata branch and received a loan of ₹30,000.
